Global transport leaders drive sustainability and innovation at #Thredbo18

The 18th iteration of the conference known as the Thredbo Series (or the International Conference on Competition and Ownership in Land Passenger Transport) was held in Cape Town, South Africa from 29th September to 3rd October. With over 140 delegates from 31 countries and 89 insightful presentations covering the seven themes of the conference, Thredbo again delivered the goods in terms of bringing new ways of thinking about public transport to the fore.

Covering seven critical workshop themes across public transport, Kelsian Group’s Managing Director and CEO, Clint Feuerherdt was one of the 140 delegates who gathered at the University of Cape Town (UCT) GSB Conference Centre to share insights and brainstorm future innovations.

Hosted by the Centre for Transport Studies at UCT and the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies at the University of Sydney, delegates contributed to the thought-provoking, experience-led and future-driven topics that will better global transport outcomes, from regulations to urban development.

The Kelsian Group Sustainability Award was presented to Yang Chong Ang, for the “Reducing social exclusion: Pathways and monetary values for more sustainable land use transport policy and planning” paper, By John Stanley, Wai Yan Leong and Yang Chong Ang. The award demonstrated a fresh look at an important topic in sustainability and produced useful insights, with measurable sustainability benefits and a pathway to get there.
