As a finalist on the AFR Sustainability Leaders 2023 list in the Logistics & Transport category, Kelsian Group has set a new benchmark for green energy, demonstrating what is possible when industry and Government work collaboratively.
Transit Systems, the Australian Public Transport division of Kelsian Group, proudly completed construction of Australia’s largest fully electric bus depot at Leichhardt, NSW, providing a verified blueprint for the future of green transport.
Kelsian Group CEO Clint Feuerherdt said being recognised as a Sustainability Leader was a credit to the team of subject matter experts behind the wheel of Transit Systems.
“I am immensely proud of the Australian Public Transport team, with Transit Systems driving forward delivery of Zero Emission targets for our Government partners and stakeholders.
“With a team of international experts, Transit Systems ensures our partners and stakeholders are deploying the latest innovations and technology in public transport.
“We know these are important KPIs for our stakeholders, and we’re proudly helping them to not just achieve, but set new zero emission standards” he said.
Mr Feuerherdt added the project with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) demonstrated both technical and commercial feasibility of electrification of large depots.
“Transport remains Australia’s third largest source of greenhouse emissions, making zero emission technology a priority for state and federal Governments, as well as mining and education transport sectors.
“As the country’s largest multi-modal tourism and transport operator, we will continue to invest in international research and development, and collaborate with industry partners worldwide to achieve more sustainable transport outcomes,” he said.
