SeaLink goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Thursday 05 October 2023
SeaLink, Australia’s leading marine transport and tourism operator, is proud to change from its iconic blue to bright pink, in support of the McGrath Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.
SeaLink will be embracing the pink theme across its Australian operations, crew wearing pink caps, our vessels being decked out in pink, and transforming its websites with the iconic Breast Cancer awareness pink hue, all in a bid to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and funds for the McGrath Foundation's invaluable work in supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection, support, and solidarity and it represents an opportunity for SeaLink to rally its team, customers, and the broader community around a cause that impacts thousands of lives.
Donna Gauci, CEO, SeaLink Marine & Tourism, said, "We all know someone who has been impacted by breast cancer, whether it be a family member, a friend, or even a work colleague.
“We have embraced the colour pink across our Australian operations, with our crew wearing pink caps, our vessels being decked out in pink, and transforming our websites in a bid to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and funds for the McGrath Foundation's invaluable work in supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer.”
“At SeaLink, we believe in the power of community. So our team are proudly donning pink, raising awareness and funds to show our support to our work colleagues, our customers and those in the wider community affected by breast cancer.
The McGrath Foundation is a renowned Australian charitable organisation that strives to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.
Founded by Jane and Glenn McGrath after Jane’s initial diagnosis with breast cancer, the foundation aims to provide crucial support to those dealing with the physical and emotional challenges that come with the disease. From funding breast care nurses to providing education and support, the McGrath Foundation plays an integral role in improving the lives of breast cancer patients across Australia.
“As part of our fundraising efforts, SeaLink will make a contribution from activities held during the month as well as displaying posters and a QR code in our terminals, our vessels and websites as an easy way for our customers to contribute to the cause,” Ms Gauci said.
“We would love to see as many people jump onboard with us this October to enjoy a brilliant experience with family and friends, which will also help support the vital work of the McGrath Foundation,” she said.
